Phantom Tollbooth

Phantom Tollbooth has become one of my favorite books. Northon Juster has become one of my favorite authors. I love how he plays with words. He is a very creative man and his work is very good. The way he named his characters is very nice. I also love how he tryed to make his book funny. I hope I can read other books of his.

I recently read The Phantom Tollbooth
I really did like it.It was a very good book.Most people read it and most people didn't but for the people who did not read it.It is about a boy named Milo and at first he is very lathargic but then this tollbooth appeared and he goes to a place were it is very litteral and very bright he learns manny things and has to acomplish somthing he wanted to do.To bring back Ryme and Reason so he did and now he is kind of like a legend.When he goes back home he wants more adventure but unfortunatly other kids need to use it.I recamend this book to people who actually mean what they say and knows some inside jokes lol.

The Phantom Tollbooth is about a boy named Milo who was bored everyday. Then one day after school when he comes home he sees a colorful box, he opens it and a tollbooth appeared. Milo drives a car and goes to a magical land where everything was literal. Milo meets Tock, a watchdog, and moves on with his journey. He learns new things, meets new people, and decides to go save Rhyme and Reason, the princesses of the kingdom of Wisdom.

Overall I think the book was amazing. Northon Juster used a lot of word play and the way he named his characters was very creative. I for one couldn't have done something as brilliant as this. Northon Juster has become one of my favorite authors and i'm hopping that I can read other books from him.

This book was very interesting and it had a lot of word play. I liked this book because it was different than any other books i have read. My favorite character was the watchdog because he is smart. I liked the ending the most because the princesses came back and the 2 kings was together again.

Phantom Tollbooth is an educational and humorous book. It has word plays and has many lessons for kids. I think that this book makes you think a lot and can be very interesting. This book is about a boy name Milo and he goes to another world. This world teaches Milo many things and changes his personality. Milo meets new friends such as Tock, The Humbug, and more. He was a letharigian but, he became more adventerous by going on a mission to bring back Rhyme and Reason. He realizes that there's more to life and that he has a lot of things to discover in the real world.

This book is about a boy named Milo. He was a very lethargic boy, he went home and saw a Tollbooth. He then went to the tollboth and wen to Lands beyond. In this adventure it shows how Milo changed and stay the same.He is trying to make two kings and they are brothers to be brothers again because one says that words are more important than numbers and the other says that numbers are more important than words.He had assistance from a dog named tock and a bug named Humbug. They went to the castle in the air to save Rhyme and Reason . When they came back they got congratulated by both kings and the two kings became brothers again. they made a new holiday because of it. Milo didn't want to go home, but did.

This book is very magical but at the same time it's educational. It is trying to show that reading and math are both very important and them both are equal in importance! This book was awesome and at some parts boring but isn't every book? Even though it

might have some boring parts it's still very informational and I recommend this book to everyone!

The Phantom Tollbooth is a magnificent book. It talks about sounds,words,numbers,and color.There is a boy named Milo that goes on an unexpected adventure that changes the way he sees life. The pictures and words may not pop of the page, but it is what the text says that counts. There are puns,idioms,figurative writing used as literal writing,and names of characters that relate to who they are. I recommend it to someone who loves ELA. A person that is amazed with all the possibilities of creative writing. I give the book 5 out of 5 stars. There may be some critics out there that find all the little things to say bad about this book, they're just haters. They probably envy Norton Juster because he can create and imagine things no one else has and see everything differently then anyone else.

The Phantom Tollbooth is a really good book for teahers to have there students read. It's about a boy named Milo who was so lethargic found a tollbooth in his room and decided to go in it because he didn't care. As in the tolbooth he went on an adventure to save the two Princesses and Faintly Macabre. During the book you need to see the different types of creative language and how the main character in the story changes from a lethargic person to an understanding person.

This is about a girl that has everything. But soon one trip can change her whole life. Many people get left out and soon leave forever.

Lots of my classmates say that the book seems wrong but I'm hoping to prove them wrong even though some of the parts are boring but I think that it's going to be worth it.

New Moon

I told you that i would talk about New Moon more so here I am doing it. Last time I talked about New Moon when it was Bella's birthday. But thank god I passed that part. I am now at the part when Edward left Bella in the woods. When I read that i was thinking "gosh this is so sad." And now, Jacob is really spending time with Bella. I think that Bella and Jacob are getting really close. I wonder what's going to happen later on:)

Connecting

When you are reading a book and you think about something that's similar from your life, other books, or things around the world, its called making connections. For example, "A boy was in many fight." Someone might made a connection about gangs and fighting around their neighborhood. It was something from their life. Making connections are easy to make when you think about it really hard.

my feelings for Twilight Series

When I read the Twilight Series, it just touches me. Every time I read it is something that comes to me. I really don't know what it is but I think it how deep the author writes. She makes it so detailed that you can actually see what's going on. I am glad I didn't skip and of the series because i wouldn't really have that vibe that I do now.:)

I am now on New Moon. I have finished Twilight which took me forever, but I'm glad that I finished. So far in New Moon i am at the part where she goes to Edward's house because they have a present to give her. They gave her a new radio because the one in her car is not really good. And to make sure that she wouldn't give it back Emmet installed it in her car. When I read that part i thought it was really funny. Well I'll tell you more about it later:0)

This is the third book of the Twilight Saga and it is about a human girl named Bella and a vampire named Edward. I'm on the part where Bella is having problems with Jacob. And her dad want her to still be friends with Jacob but it is hard because he is a werewolf and edward is a vampire and she is eventually going to become one.And the vampires and the werewolfs dont get alondg and thats all i read so far.

Breaking dawn

Breaking dawn is the last book of the twilight series. It is when a girl name Balla finally get married to a boy name Edward. After they had a child name Renasmee the volturies came to kill the child. I reconmend this book to anyone because I believe that you will injoy it as mush as I did.

John Grogan

John Grogan is a famous author. He wrote many book, like "Marley and Me' and other things. He is really famous right now for righting "Marley and Me" because it just became a movie. I saw it and cried at the end. Most of Johns books are really emotional. That is what I think of his books. He was a columnist which is a big promotion for when you work for a newspaper.

True Sea Stories

I have recently finished reading True Sea Stories. The title says it all. Each story is different ,but they all scare me. There are two stories that I remember the most , Race The Savage Sea and An Ultra-Secret Sinking. The first one is about nine men that went on a race around the world and 8 died so 1 is left. But that one guy is very unlucky because the ship have a hole and the water is in the boat ankle-deep already. The other one is about people at sea while Word War II is going on.

A Crooked Kind of Perfect!

This book is about a girl and she wants to play the piano and play at the Carnegie Hall. I am at the part where Zoe's dad was making cookies and he made way too many so she brought them to school. Ever since she brought the cookies to school there has been this boy named Wheeler Diggs followes her home everday and make cookies and talk with her dad. All of a sudden Zoe just decides to quit playing the piano out of no where. She has too make a big decision that might chane her whole life and the love that she has for the piano.

Kaput and Zosky

It also is a funny store, in this book Kaput and Zosky want to do a king in a plante. So he got a great gum, if he use this gum shoot the people. That peson will be change to the smoke, he went to every plante that is in the space. But he also can't do a king.

I'm now reading a book called A Single Shard. I just started reading it, I at the part where Tree-Ear is questioning a did a good balance a bad one? And he's also questioning what kind of man is the farmer? Tree-Ear said that asking questions can sharpen a man's mind.It's a really good book to start out with.

This book is about a girl named Libby and her secret blogging life. When she first came to Yeardly High, she had no friends but her cousin named Roger. Seth needed ''totouring'' from Libby in chemistry class, even thogh she had no idea what she was doing Keisha was being a helpful friend by tutoring Libby in the morning before tutoring Seth. Long story short, Seth was secretly in love with Libby then they got together. Angel Rivera's dad and Marcy stayed together, Keisha and Roger stayed friends, Angel and her dad became closer and less distracted with work. Turns out this book was just a very romantic love story.

When reading a book....

When people read, they imagine. I feel like I want to be in the book sometimes. Once, I love the book, I read it over and over. Sometimes, I can't get deeply in the book because I read the first page and I don't like it no more. Books isn't created just for looking at words. Books are here to entertain us, to let us think a lot, to teach us new things. I like books a lot now. I even have planned books to read after I'm done reading now.

Marley The Worlds Worst Dog 

This book is about a man who just got married adopts a dog who turns out to be the worlds worst dog. It is very funny and sad. It is one of the most emotional books ever. I am almost done with it. It has pictures of him. Everthing in the movie and the book, actually happened in real life. There are many funny and sad parts. I cried and laughed every now and then. If you want to read it, ask me next week on Monday, when I'll most likley be done it by then. If you ever do read it, I hope you enjoy it.

The book i am reading is called Fruits basket. The book is about a girl named Torhu and she was adopted by a family who lives with a curse. In this book, a bot named Yuki reveals his past and how it is connected with Torhu's life, in her school, they are making a play called Sorta Cinderella and she stars in it after the show, Torhu is thinking about revealing her feelings to Kyo, what will be Kyo's reaction to her feelings? will she be rejected by Kyo?

This is a book about a girl wanting to play the piano at Carnegie Hall in New York City.It is a good book and it tells about a girl music problems and some of her family and friends problem. This book kind of resembles to other kids who love music and always wanted to play at a place they think is special.

Well I am currently reading New Moon and I know mostly every one has posted about twilight and all the books that come after twilight.So New Moon started off boring because I wasnt in to it.So then as I read it had gotten interesting and now I love it the same way I love twilight.People keep telling me why are you reading those BORING books and I ignore them because this is what I like to read and what I am interested in.

Twilight is so interesting and the beginning was boring tome but then when I got to the middle it got more interesting. I'm almost done reading this book. After this book I'm going to read Eclipse because I already read New Moon.

Wow. I can't believe that I am almost done Twilight! Well I'm not sure because I'm on 300. I saw the movie because I couldn't wait any longer. I shouldn't have watched the movie because it riuned the book for me. It's like nothing is surprising to me because i watched the movie. I should of went on to New Moon but I told everyone that i would finish Twilight before i read any other book. I wish I could just go back in time and just stop me from watching the movie.

I was reading New Moon, but i give up. The Twilight series is just not my kind of books. I would rather just watch the movies because it seems more interesting. So T. Erin, you can have this book back.

What happens when I read is I become in my own little world. I get to do anything I want, do anything and wear anything I want. It's like I get to make my own movie with my own friends and family. I sometimes cry ,laugh and also get very mad. Thats what happends when I read.

when I adventure in paper

When I read,I usually go on an adventure.Sometimes when I really like a book I replace words with pictures.In comics however,I picture myself as a character. I hear the voices in my head,and know every the character is saying.Its like spying on a conversation, except you cant get in trouble.I can go anywhere I want, and no one can stop me. Its great reading a book.

Sometimes when I read can't trust what someone says. What I see is the main character saying something to someone else. When I also read I ask myself questions, for example why did they rob the bank. I also imagine myself in the book and helping the main character with his or her problem.

What Happens When I Read

When I read I can see pictures and hear the voices of some characters in my mind. Different book have different voices in my mind, for example comic and NON-FICTION books.
There's different voices in comic books, some of the voices sounds like a boy and some of the voices sounds like a man. When I read a NON-FICTION books I can only hear one voices because most of the NON-FICTION books are third person point of view.

Going On A Journey

A book that takes me on an adventure is Geronimo Stilton Christmas Catastrophe. It is about a mouse that goes on a ski trip and gets into an accident. So he stay in the hospital for the trip.Then he falls in love with one of the nurses.I go on a journey while reading ths book by imagining that I am one of the characters in the book.

When I read I become in my own in my world. I imagine what the character would look like and sound like. Sometimes I want to cry to sad stories but I try to not to cry. Usuall I don't like reading, when I started to read holes I started to get in the book.

Is it me or did I just hear a voice?

When I read, I start to visualize the setting and what the characters look like. The book doesn't even have to give details to show what something looks like. I just see it right there in front of my face. Sometimes I can hear what the characters are saying and their facial expressions when they say it. One thing to make myself laugh while I read is to read out loud in a different accent; for example I speak European, Jamaican, African, and sometimes I speak Spanish(I just make up some sounds).

Reding is Dreaming

As i read a book i start off without a care then as i go on it gets interesting like yesterday i woke up feeling lazy not wanting to do anything so i took a book (Twilight) and read it for the entire day and my mom actualy told me to stop reading but i didint. What i am saying is when i read it's not only called reading i actually feel more than that so when i read a book for the entire day i feel great i am the kind of person that when i read i get distracted easly or somtime i get mad because people distract me .i have a great dream about twilight mixed up with my life once in a while;or maybe other books.

Emotions For Books

When I read a book I would always hear voices in my head. Also I would be so into the book I would sometimes dream abut it. Sometimes I would imagine that I am standing and watching what's going on. If something funny is happening I would always laugh out loud. I also hear my thoughts about the book. I compare the book with what's happening in my life.

When I read, I think how their voice sounds. I also imagine what I look like when I do the same thing as the character. Sometimes, I try to think how they look by what the author wrote. After I watched the movie, Twilight, I read the book. When I read the book, I think what's different about the movie to the book. I've pay a lot of attention to books now than last year. When I read about something sad, I sometimes think about my life and my friends. When I read a book, I sometimes don't think about it, because I think about other things in life.

Pages of Emotions

When I read a book all of these emotion just start coming to me. I ask way to many questions to myself out loud. So it seems like I am talking to myself. When I'm reading a page in a book I might feel sad, but on the next page I might just get excited and happy. When read a book I start to forget about my problems in school or at home. It's just like I am in this new world far far far far away where I can just forget about everything and everybody. I read a book about sea stories and I felt like I was on the boat with the captain and sailors. I actually felt the swaying motion of the boat on the sea. To me reading is like a little vacation I have everyday. Nothing can touch me, no one can stop me, I feel in peace, I feel in touch with the world.

Some time when I read a book I image the people of the story in my head. Many of the people I image in the book look like some of my friends.

Feeling about Books

There are many ways books can make me feel. Some book make me sad because people treat others wrong, and some books make me laugh because they have funny parts in them. Books can make me want to cry and some books can have me scared, there are so many ways books can make you react. Some books can even have you talking to yourself why you are reading because you be really into the book you be reading, and I love to read non-fiction books the ones that be true that's why I be so scared and have so many feeling about the books I read.

Feeings I Feel When I Read

The feelings that I feel when I read is that, when the character makes a wrong move I would be mad because they get themselves into a big problem, but then they are going to know how to get themselves into a better position to solve the problem. When that happens I say to myself "why didn't you do that earlier"? that is what I feel when i am reading a book.

What I think about books when I'm reading

When I'm reading books that I pick out for me to read I pick out exciting books. I look at the cover and the tittle and study it or I'll just read the back and see what's it's about. If it's not good then I'll just put it back.
Sometimes when I read I just compare it to another person or thing and a lot of books I read are about just about things I have and the book means lot to me.

Some Books Feel, Some don't.

There are many books that you can really get in to. The books that get me into them is books that start interesting and finish interesting. Books that don't feeling means that it's to difficult or the author messed up in making her book. I like poetry, because it usually has a purpose you can get into a poem because it speaks to you, you can tell the author made it to get you or anybody else in the poem you don't want to stop it shows something you can't find in stories and that's a moral a life lesson that the author is making sure you can relate to that poem. You may find it in some books but not all.

Emotions about books

I sometimes don't feel anything about books. Sometimes I do feel things about books. One example is when I read "Marley And Me", I laughed at almost everything, then at the end since Marley died, I cried a little. It is a real emotional book. I was very surprised. One book I felt really nothing for is not really a book, but it is stuff like newspapers. Sometimes I feel emotional, but most likely I don't really care. When somebody dies I really care. Some things are just boring to me.

When I read a book that I like, it's like that I am inside the book in my mind. I always have feeling when I read a book that I like. Sometimes I feel sad, happy, angry or maybe I want to laugh because of the character does something funny. I always read over and over when I like the book. Books is like a gold when you love to read it. For me reading is fun when you understand it.For me books that I don't understand it is not fun. So I always look at the first page and read it if I get it or not. If I don't get it I put it away and get another book that's fun to read.

What books do to me!

Some books make me smile and make me ask questions because there are many books in the classroom that more than one person is reading, so if I would have any problem I would go up to the other people and ask them if they understood this part of the story. Many times we need help and we try to figure it out if it's too hard we ask the teacher for her help. When I read books I have many different emotions. Some emotions that I feel are happy, sad, angry, glad and more. A book that made me feel happy was "The Tale of Despereaux" and there was a book called "My Last Bestfriend." This book made me feel sad because her best friend left and she had no one to talk to. There are many books in the world that can make a person have emotions and feellings for the book and the characters. I think i will always have feelings about a book.

Some books people have feelings too because books are exciting and fun to read and you maybe feel like your in the book.Most books are fun to read but not all books are fun.Maybe lots of novels don't have feelings but if your a good reader you'll probley understand the book and have feelings for the characters.

Thinking while I'm reading

I'm a big fan of the Twilight series. I read all of them, the best book is Breaking Dawn. I wish I wish that I was Bella, because she get to have Edward and they both love each other deeply. When I start to read it,I get butterflies and then, I start to act out the scences. I think Stephenie Meyer is the best author ever because she will make you feel like your one of the characters and that your there in the story. Edward is so cute and sweet. Bella is very lucky I know this is just a story but I hope it will come true and instead of Bella it will be me and Edward will be a human not a vampire. I think that when Bella was pregnant Roaslie(sister) just wanted the baby to be safe she didn't care about Bella at all. Thats what I feel when I'm reading good books!

When I Read

When I read I feel sad sometimes because when the character dies or get hurt it makes me feels like I was the one who got hurt. I also starts to think about people who ats like the character like in the book LOVE AINT PAIN. I would say Techer Bill acts like the father in the book because he is always in a rush to get things done.

When I am reading some books, sometime I will laugh, but sometime I will sad. The book "Avatar the Last Airbenter" that book make me laugh, because that book is funny and that book is not hard to let me read it. The book " My Name is Maria Isabel" that book make me sad, because it is not funny and it is not a hard book to read, so I can feel I am sad. In the book " Avatar the Last Airbenter" a boy name Avatar he put his tongue in the fan and then talk to someone, it make me laugh. Another thing in that book make me laugh is that a Waterbenter people do a Earthbenter people's thing, and let some Firebenter people saw it , then they catch him. In the book " My Name is Maria Isabel" Maria fall when she go to take school bus, a person didn't go to help her, he just said hurry up, that make me sad. At the end the teacher let her name is Maria, and let her sing on the stage, that make me laugh again.

Feelings and Not

When I read sometimes, I can't picture in my head and the feelings for the characters. The reason I can't because the the book is maybe difficult te feelings and some book are boring. When I read some interesting books, I can feel the emotion. One example is when someone is dead I felt scared and sad. I cried when they died.

Feelings When I Read

The first book that made me have feelings was Twilight because whenever a sad part comes up like when Bella had to leave her dad to escape from the hunters, I felt very sad because I knew that Bella really missed her father, but she still had to leave.And the second book that gave me feelings was a book called The Diary Of Anne Frank. The book gave me feelings because I felt very bad for Anne Frank because she was put in a camp during the war an she had to shave her head also. At that time I almost felt like crying because she died along with her sister.

All of a Sudden, Emotions start to appear

Everytime I start to read, I just have feelings. Like yesterday, (February 5, 2009) I picked up my book and the first sentence I read was perfection is imperfection. I started to think what that sentence meant, but anyways when I read sometimes I don't know how to express the way I feel with certain books. When there are funny parts I just start to laugh out of nowhere and not anyone knows why. There are many parts of the story where I stop and just put the book down. The reason why is when a surprising part starts to begin, I stop reading because when I go back to reading I don't find anything boring or else I'll just stop reading the book for a while and go back reading the book couple of days later.

Feelings I Had

The first book that made me cry was New Moon. It made me cry when I read a part when Bella cry. I feel mad in Holes when I read the part when Stanley was blame that he stole the shoe. In Harry Potter # 1 I could not feel but I could see hat Harry Potter have a hard time living with the Pursleys. Some other books sad, happy, and mad.

When I read I might get into the book and don't listen to anything people says.I also cry at sad parts when somebody dies or they get in a bad situation.I also feel like I am the only one in the house and scream to the top of my lungs when the people in the book do something bad.I also talk to my self when a person is clueless.That's what I do when I read a book.Sometimes!
